Economic Development

Economic development can be defined as activities or investments that promote economic growth or prevent economic decline in a community.  Economic development is crucial to preserving and enhancing the quality of life found in the Region. Providing economic development assistance to the local governments within the Apalachee Region is one of the primary missions of the ARPC.  To properly support the issues identified in the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), the Council may assist in grant writing, coordinate with state and federal agencies and work with local Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Councils.  The ARPC's economic development efforts will be directed to support the strategies and projects outlined in the 2007 CEDS.
